INFO-653 Knowledge Organization: An introductory course of key concepts, systems, and tools to organize, provide access to and share information resources. The course covers basic principles and applications of descriptive cataloging, classification, and indexing for physical and digital resources. Also covered are metadata, thesauri and emerging knowledge organization systems and practices, including linked data and social tagging. It will provide an introduction to the ways these systems are impacted by cultural biases which may require reparative or remediation work.

I worked with two other librarians to create a LibGuide around craftivism looking at knitting, quilting, and embroidery examples. We aimed to educate and offer resources for people in NYC to connect with the crafting community. My portion focused on the history of marginalizing voices within the knitting community and how modern day knitters are combatting this.
